Membership

Full Membership
A Full Member shall be a health plan licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and operating to serve at least one covered person in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Association representing such health plans. A Member shall be represented by its CEO and/or its designated representative. A Member includes any affiliated health plan which is also licensed by the Commonwealth.

Associate Membership
An Associate Member shall be an organization which (i) has applied for licensure as a health plan in Virginia but does not qualify as a Member or (ii) a health plan that has elected not to be a Member as provided in this article, but that otherwise supports the philosophy and goals of the Association as determined by the Association Membership. (iii) provides or arranges for the provision of single or supplemental health benefits.

Affiliate Membership
There are two types of Affiliate Members, Corporate Affiliate Member and Individual Affiliate Member:

A Corporate Affiliate Member shall be a business entity, professional organization or association, or other corporate interest which supports the philosophy and goals of the Association as determined by the Association Membership. A Corporate Affiliate Member may be a managed care entity other than an organization meeting the criteria for Member or for Associate Member.

An Individual Affiliate Member shall be an individual who supports the philosophy and goals of the Association as determined by the Association.
