COVERVA: A COVID-19 Booster Is Available for All Children Age 12 and Older

Allyn Hodgins Uncategorized

For everyone age 12-17, the Virginia Department of Health recommends a Pfizer booster dose 5 months after their last Pfizer dose.

For individuals 18 and older, a Pfizer or Moderna booster dose is recommended:  5 months after their last Pfizer or Moderna dose 2 months after their one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

And – everyone 5 and older should complete their initial vaccination! Unvaccinated people develop COVID at a rate 4.3 times higher than fully vaccinated people and 2.2 times higher than partially vaccinated people.

Booster shots help protect against serious illness from COVID-19, including the Omicron variant.

Use Virginia’s vaccine finder tool to find a vaccine location near you. Many vaccine locations accept walk-ins and have evening and weekend hours, making it easy for you to make sure your children can get a shot.

Medicaid also offers transportation if you need a ride to your appointment.

The vaccine is free for all Virginians. Make sure your entire family is fully protected by getting vaccinated today. Find Your Vaccine
