Doug GrayExecutive Director
Doug has led the Association of Health Plans since 2003, joining the organization after serving 8 years as the Chief Lobbyist for the Virginia Association of REALTORS. Doug worked for several years in the non-profit arena helping to start the Sorensen Institute of Political Leadership at UVA – a nonpartisan educational program for candidates for local and state offices in Virginia. He also served on the staff of a U.S. Senator and Representative in Washington. Doug received his B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary and his M.A. in Public Administration from the University of Virginia.
Chris McCormickDirector of Member Engagement & Advocacy
Chris has served as VAHP’s Director of Member Engagement & Advocacy since 2013, having previously served as a Committee Coordinator for the VA House of Delegates, clerking the Courts of Justice Committee for 7 years. Chris served as a Captain in the US Army in Iraq and Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm and for 3 years at Camp Zama, Japan as a Logistics Plans Officer. Chris received her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law and B.A. in Government from St. Lawrence University.
Josh HumphriesDirector of Policy
Josh has served as Director of Policy at VAHP since August 2020. Prior to joining VAHP, he served as Government Relations Specialist for James Madison University (JMU) where he focused on local, state, and federal relations issues for the university. Josh earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Political Communication from JMU in 2015 and completed his Master of Public Administration with a concentration in public management from JMU in May 2020. He is a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and graduate of the Sorensen Institute’s Emerging Leaders Program.
